What is a social media page for?

A Social media allows users to quickly create and share content with the public. Social media page encompasses a wide range of websites and apps. Some, like Twitter, specialize in sharing links and short written messages. Others, like Instagram and TikTok, are built to optimize the sharing of photos and videos. Basically it's for the artists to show themselves to the public.

The Artist I looked for is ASAP Rocky based on some research I already did at Blogpost 8: Branding.

Asap Rocky’s brand on social media:

Instagram: 13.5 millions followers

Twitter: 2.7 millions followers

Facebook: 8 million followers

Youtube: 3.96 millions subscribers

We can see his Instagram is the most highly followed part of his social media: The reason for this could possibly be the audience’s interest in what he is wearing and pictures of his lifestyle. However, Asap Rocky’s Instagram currently has no posts. In the past Rocky has used Instagram in a rather unconventional way, treating more as a piece of art, rather than a social media platform. He suddenly deleted all his posts on Instagram, I guess the reason might be the negative comments below his posts (Because he is highly controversial in the public) Which would show that he is quite emotional and susceptible.

However, Rocky uses his Facebook and Twitter in a much more commercial way, with links to purchase his music and merchandise, and advertisements to his new work.

One interesting thing I found out is he named himself ’LORD FLACKO JODYE II' on his twitter page. From research online, I knew that...

"Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2 (LPFJ2)" is a song by American hip-hop recording artist ASAP Rocky. The song, produced by Nez & Rio, was released on January 7, 2015, as the first official single from his second studio album, At. Long. Last.

It showed one characteristic of ASAP Rocky - he would never forgot his origin.

It also presented that he his ideas and his team got different ideas that would not restrained at one label.
