The Back of the album:

For the back of the album, I had posted 12 different songs name on the right. Put together the Capital letters of each song, will form 'harmonious MV", which I thought it is an using of word-play. I put the barcode at the left, also my blog's link. On the upper left, I had wrote who produced this album. (All the works of the digipak was done by myself)

The image of the crumpled tissue presents the idea that teenagers often put on a mask, to hide these emotions; emotions of confusion, anger, and anxiety, symbolised by the messy hair of the figure, suggesting a lack of rest and bad dreams. "Click to enter my thoughts"is my idea, that means if you click in, to go inside my mind, you will understand my thoughts.

The front of the album

whirlpool surrounding the paper plane in the cover to the single ‘Hey Kong’, shows the directionless challenges faced by many young people.

the use of an inspirational maxim on the digipak, “There’s always light at the end of the tunnel”, not only is particular to 31ter’s brand, but is in keeping with the rap movement, concerned with personal improvement and the bettering of oneself. The “Light at the end of the tunnel” quotation gives a sense of hope, seen through the mirror transition from a young boy in tracksuits to a successful suited adult carries on this theme.

particularly with the image of the ‘sun eater’ in the digipak. This is particularly important as the target audience are students in China, perhaps those taking the GaoKao, who are looking for messages of encouragement and inspiration. This is where the theme of memory and growing up is also made universal throughout my digipak.

The Pollock inspired use of colour on the CD-ROM, stands out from the more muted colours in the rest of the design, and represents the myriad of emotions that teenagers feel during their school years.

The ideas I got from other artists’ digipaks were plentiful, such as from Jay Chou’s digipak. I really like the ideas of half-skeleton and half-head; it’s showed a binary opposite. Which then I used binary opposite of Jay Chou use labels of skeleton referred to the key elements of the song. Therefore I used “paper plane” as one of the symbol of my music video.

In my album cover, The picture I covered my face with tissue, I actually get some ideas from Jay Chou’s album cover of having the person’s face at the middle of the image to be symmetric. PO8’s album cover was in a pretty Chinese style and was therefore an inspiration to me. He used lots of red and included Chinese elements of the inside of a palace. I thought the ideas of this album cover did not however wholly fit my idea to my album, but I thought his typeface is kind of interesting- it was sharp as a knife. Therefore after long consideration I decided to set my typeface ”31ter” to be more smooth.
